The only boys Street Dance in the area taught by our very talented male dance teacher.
Boys only Street Dance!!
Our boys Street Dance is the perfect place for any dance loving boys. If your boy loves dancing but isn’t keen on being in a class with 90% girls then this is the class for them!!
There is a real ‘boys club’ feeling and they get to be themselves with other like-minded boys.
There is also a massive Harry Potter fandom among our current members and they have all bonded over this so beautifully.
Stretch & Tone
Strengthening and Stretching the body each week will allow the children to track their progress. It’s quite inspiring to see the differences that can be achieved in a short space of time.
Tricks and tumbling
We work on the fundamentals of Hip Hop tricks and techniques including Freezes, Six Steps and Top Rocking.
Routines
Each term we’re working towards a routine so the grown-ups can come and watch on the last day of term.
Why Boys Street Dance?
As a mum of two boys I felt this class would be a great addition to our current offering. Once boys get to a certain age, dance can sometimes feel like a ‘girly’ thing to do and I wanted to provide a space where they can enjoy themselves whilst still feeling like a boys boy. The dance itself is also slightly different as we are learning all the power moves which are more suited to the male body type. The guys are working on freezes, and strengthening exercises as well as routines and bopping.
Who teaches the class?
Our Boys Street Dance is taught by our super talented, Carl Lock. Carl is a local boy who grew up in Molesey and went on to train at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom. You can read more about Carl here.
